The job was to highlight the quality of German engineering by showcasing the unique features found in VW vehicles. We were sent off to think of ideas for Advanced Keyless Technology. We came back with a naughty Bulldog with an appetite for trouble.
Taco Bell was launching their biggest menu item to date – the Doritos Locos Taco. We knew it was going to be an experience everyone would want to share.
For a limited-time, Pepsi was rereleasing a natural sugar beverage made with a formula from the 1970’s. They called it Pepsi Throwback. We dipped back into Pepsi’s past as well and discovered a classic music track no one even knew existed. Combined with some funky retro graphics and buttery VO, we knew we had a hit on our hands.
In addition, we also created a series of pre-roll ads to run during classic 70’s TV shows airing on HULU.
Hyundai was a proud sponsor of various college football programs across the country, and we wanted to fire up sports fans using their own unique “acts of loyalty”. We put together a solid game plan involving national and regional TV spots, program ads, digital and social media units and on-field activations helping us score big with both fans and Hyundai. We even brought home some hardware, earning a bronze Clio Award for our efforts.
Hankook-sponsored driver, Rhys Millen, was attempting to be the first person to break the 9-minute mark in an all-electric vehicle at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Hankook Tire sent us out to Colorado Springs to document the moment as Rhys raced into the record books and added to his family’s legacy at this historic event. The project included a short documentary, print ads, digital banners and social media posts.
Who says Sales Event advertising can’t be fun? To kick off “Happy Honda Days”, we took 12 cars, 44 actors, 2 custom made light-up sweaters and spent 8 days on set to create a series of stop-motion spots that delighted viewers and delivered cheerful results for our client. Oh, and it was super fun to work on with our friends at BUCK.
PSP portable game consoles were going on sale, and people were out of reasons for not having one of their own. To help make our point, we created one of the worse case scenarios for a PSP owner – a long flight with a nosy neighbor. The client liked it so much, they had us turn one TV spot into an additional series of videos to be showcased on various online channels.
Not many people know about the Dakar Rally – one of the toughest off-road races in the world. Even fewer know that Team Mitsubishi has won the Overall title nine times, beating Land Rover, BMW, Toyota and other major car brands along the way. This double-sided print ad touted this amazing accomplishment, and left the competition picking dirt from their teeth.
The Playstation 3 game console was set to launch, and the highly anticipated Heavenly Sword was one of the first big games out of the gate. We combined CG with live action to bring the beautifully aggressive combat movements of the game’s heroine to the big screen.
As part of the Pepsi Refresh campaign, Pepsi signed on as the official soft drink of Major League Baseball. To get the word out, we linked the past with the present and provided a fresh take on America’s favorite pastime.
The new Sonata was set to launch, and we were tasked to come up with a support spot using only existing footage and scenes from Hyundai’s steel factory in Korea. We put on our MacGyver pants and went to work.
As part of the “G” rebrand campaign for Gatorade, we created print ads to highlight the positive effects of new G sports drinks on the human body, while also showcasing some of the G-sponsored athletes recently signed to their roster. Inspired by the Bodies exhibit, we thought it would be cool to shed some skin and give people a look under the hood.

Before the launch of the PS3 entertainment console, we wanted to wet gamers appetites with never-before-seen game footage and other desirable Easter eggs. In order to get them, people would have to find them. To help them discover and unlock these treasures, we created giant outdoor murals displaying a few of the main PS3 game characters invading screens soon. In the murals, we imbedded a secret alphabet and clues that gamers could use to unlock rewards back on the PS3 site.
It got in the One Show, but more importantly, Lee Clow had in mounted on the walls of Chiat/Day. Thanks, Lee. You’re the best.
Everyone is born with a carbon footprint. Some are larger than others, but we should all take steps to reduce our negative impact on the planet. Working with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, we created an extension to their website to help people measure their own personal footprint, and provide them with clean and simple solutions to help shed a few shoe sizes.
One of Sony Playstation’s biggest game franchises was coming to the PSP. We wanted to warn gamers of the evil they would soon be holding in their hands.
